October is the month of celebration for me... not only is it my birthday, my bestie's birthday, it is also the anniversary of MJ in Singapore!

This October, MJ is celebrating our 1st anniversary in SG!!!

The girls and I met up to celebrate MJ's birthday over a lovely meal at Pasta Cafe.

here's some of the pics we took!

We were brought to tour the flagship MJ outlet at Ngee Ann City..

If you are wondering what these doll houses are for, they are actually modelled after the best-selling chapters in MJ.

These dollhouses not only showcase the elements and story behind each chapter, each product from the specific chapters are also displayed along with the dolls.

Chapters 20,21,22,23 were displayed from Sep 30^th to Oct 14^th while chapters 8, 11,12, 15 were displayed till Nov 2^nd.

I especially love this Chapter as it depicts the MJ girl as sophisticated and effortless. What do you think?

While the girls and i were talking about how fast time flies, I realised that it has been about a year since i've joined Majolica Majorca as ambassador..

The MJ ambassadors and I have really bonded over this past year.. from exotic dancing, to chasing peacocks around Sentosa, time seems to fly by so fast when we are having fun..

This time, besides the lovely items that we usually receive after every outing, the MJ team came up with a really lovely, exquisite (and expensive) gift for us!

Dear all!!!
i'm back!!!!
Sorry for my lack of updates, been so caught up with work that i hardly have the time to come online.. and i'm too tired to blog during the weekends when i'm off! :(

Here's some news about me to show i'm still aliveee..

1) I've recently perused a Blackberry Bold!!! It really helps to improve the speed of my replies and connect to the rest of the world during my free time before/after work.
Everyone's also been so busy that email seems to be the only way i can communicate quickly with my friends.. :) the only downside is that I'm still typing real slow. haha..

2) i've been working for the past 1.5 months. :) :)
shan't share where i'm working at with you all, but just to let you know, work's been great and the colleagues are really nice & down-to-earth.
I've been feeling so blessed recently as I'm learning so much and meeting so many helpful people.

3) I've been designing gorgeous year-end collections for MeltCouture and my next post would be on Wednesday, September 16th!!!! Loads and loads of gorgeous clothes and of course, it will be MeltCouture's Manufactured Part 4... so i hope you girls are as excited about it as i am! whee!!!

4) Took a breather from my regimental work-home life and joined the MJ girls for an outing!
I love MJ outings cos they are always packed with so much surprises.. :D

For this meeting, our lovely readers came to experience our MJ activities for themselves!! And it was a real pleasure to have met them! :D

Unfortunately, as i'm now working, i was 3 hours late for the meeting and most of them have left by the time i got there.. :(

However, I managed to take a couple of photos with my lovely girls..

As usual, the setup at our MJ meetings are intricate and gorgeous..

This setting is in sync with our new Chapter 'Fairy Sadistic'..
This theme strikes me as dark and enchanting, as much as i'm captivated by the gorgeous array of products that is launched with this Chapter! (I'll be blogging about that real soon so do keep a lookout for it :))

And as everyone knows, no MJ meeting is complete without a "SURPRISE" activity..
This time, the MJ team decided to get manga artists to draw us as dark fairies with "Piercing eyes", an idea inspired by our theme..

This is their interpretation of me.. :D

7th July, my sis' birthday..
Yet, when i woke up in the morning.. i was the one to be surprised. :)
found this outside my door with best wishes from my sister... how sweet, and i completely forgot to buy her a birthday gift!! I'm mean.Commencement day was a day i looked forward to ever since i entered uni.. Not that this day held any significant meaning, but more or rather, it signified the end of my years of toiling and slogging for good grades. :)

On this day of graduation, however, my feelings were mixed. All my life, I followed what seemed like the "right path" to me, getting grades good enough to get me through to JC and Uni comfortably. In Uni, I believed that not getting below a "B" grade was good enough. My efforts allowed me not to get a single "C", but still, I believe I haven't actually put in my best effort to strive for the best that I can be.

Everything i've done so far had been steps neatly carved out by the Singaporean education system and i've never had the chance to sit down and think through carefully what i really wanted and give my 100% to work towards it.

This day, I am finally freed from the apron-strings of the system. But my life ahead still seems blurry and fluid. I've had 22 long years to think through what i want to do with my life. And at this point, i can't deny I know exactly what i want. But... this is the beginning of an incredulous journey and I'm glad to have my family and friends with me while i embark on my search for my own meaning in life.

We arrived at Vivo for dinner and saw this rainbow in the Sky. Things surely must get better from hereon. :)

While we were walking out of the restuarant, I looked at the back view of the 2 dearest people who brought me up and I can't help but feel that they have really aged.. My dad has always been the Mr Nice Guy who is so easy-going and never fails to help me when i'm in need. My mummy, on the other hand, is a go-getter who has taught me so much about putting my best efforts into everything..

I love the way they are so unobtrusive in allowing me to make my own decisions about my life's path.. So, a big THANKS to dad and mum for everything, putting me through school without a worry and providing for me. Everything that i own today is because of the many sacrifices you made. :)

As i posted earlier on, each meeting i have with the Majolica Majorca girls is always filled with mystery and surprise.
We'd outings to donut shops, chased peacocks around Sentosa and learnt erotic dancing in the studio.. but nothing we've thought of has prepared us for this!!!!!

The girls and I were invited to an "innocent" tea party at this gorgeous garden of eden which the MJ girls painstakingly set up...

The theme of this party is the Garden of Eden.. in which the setting showcased a wonderful array of plants and fruits...

This theme coincides with the theme of MJ's new makeup chapter 23 - "Innocent Pleasure".. as you shall see later, the theme unfolds in the sequel of events that were to happen later that day...

As the girls and myself were basking in the wonderful Garden of Eden setting, indulging in the glorious food and the new range of makeup, we forgot that in the Garden of Eden, things do not go perfectly as planned...

While we were halfway through our tea, Jerraine announced that we would be having a visitor..

And this visitor is none other than the serpent in the Garden of Eden..

MJ engaged a snake charmer to grace our party... and trust me when i say that this is the highlight!!!

The snake charmer brought some snakes to be charmed when in fact, he was charming us girls with his snakes!! hahahahaha.

After the actitivities, we were invited to carry the albino python, which is said to be one of the rarest species you can find in Singapore.

While some girls are brave and totally comfortable with the huge python, others like Beatrice, Kanny and myself were practically living in our nightmare!

Haha, but we all did it in the end and the snake was actually quite gentle.. :)

I really really love all the MJ outing so I would like to extend the invitation for you girls to join us at our next meeting!!!

One reader will be chosen from each ambassador so i really hope one of you get to come along for the next MJ meeting with me!!!

The first thing i've learnt since graduation is to be domesticated.

The simplest yet tastiest dish that i've made so far is asparagus with bacon! :)

I doubt you'll ever see this elsewhere but i wrapped almost 2 pieces of bacon with every stalk of asparagus. haha.. call it lazy or what, it's certainly less of a hassle. :)

1st step: Wash and peel the stalk of the asparagus.
2nd step: Wrap with bacon (spiral)
3rd step: Put it in the oven

How easy can that get?

I decided to put some chicken breast to be cooked together with it.

Simply pound some of these herbs, marinate it with the chicken and chuck it all together.
It's not necessary to add salt as the bacon's very salty already.

Outcome:
I call it the meal for the bum. :)

Anyways, speaking of domestics, i can hardly imagine myself becoming a wife, much less a mother..
I was browsing through some of my mum's old pics and it was excruciating to see her put on the ten pounds with each child she had!!!
Haha.. what a sacrifice! Thanks mom.

I know times are bad and buying branded stuff's not really a good idea right now.. but!!! my cousin doesn't get to fly to Paris often and these items are so so gorgeous!!! :D yay!!! i'll utilize them as much as i can!!!

OK this is about the bestest dinner i've had for a long time. The food is so-so, pretty standard italian cuisine. But what's BEST is this superb deal we got! There is this Citibank deal there that if 2 people dine there using their citibank card, they get 50% off!!!! Cool ain't it???

Then if 3 people dine there, it's 33% off and 25% of subsequent amount of people!

Anyways, from my previous post, the girls and i met up for a short gathering and received our new products from the latest chapter 22 – Girly Erotica!!! Yayyy! And this time was exceptionally great because of MJ's two new breakthrough products-- the all new Lash Beautifying Mascara Frame Plus and the Pressed Pore Cover!!!

Hey everyone!!!! I'm back!!! The trip with my family was fantastic and i've been feeling pretty happy this past recess week!!! :)
But now it's back to school and mid-terms for me so full-steam all ahead!!!

This post was supposed to be up long ago after CNY but i didn't have the time to put it up!!
My dates with the Majolica Majorca team are always full of surprises and joy. This CNY gathering was no exception. :)

The girls and I met at the the office for a meeting about the new products (yess.. they are totally awesome and i guarantee that you girls will love them!) and we were dazzled by the lovely setting in the meeting room!

With the spidery cobwebs and black swirls around.. you could have easily felt that you had mistakenly walked into a room in preparation for Halloween.

Yes, and that is the latest theme from Majolica Majorca-- Chapter 22: Girly Erotica...But since it was Chinese New Year, we simply had to kickstart the whole meeting with the traditional "lou yu sheng"!!!!

not a bad feat at all.. considering that I have 2 left feet.. hahaha

The day was super fun and i'm already looking forward to the next MJ outing!!!

Decided to have dinner at the Kuriya Japanese Restaurant on wed night..
It's a nice place, and the ambiance kinda reminds me of Marche.
Well, it's a great place to have budget Japanese street-food and indulge in a great variety of food in small portions..

makeup post + sports fever

Remember my previous post about the Majolica Majorca Peacock search and J.Co donut outing?

It was actually to mark the launch of a new makeup range by MJ, called "A girl with wings"
I mentioned that we were given some of the new products to try in these gorgeous gift bags!!

and these are some of the products i received!!!

I've received some mails asking me how i apply my eye-makeup! So, if you really want to know about my magical makeup tips, this is the post to read!!

My make-over!!!

STEP 1:
The very first thing every girl should do is to complete all steps of proper skincare, that is, cleanse, tone and moisturize.

STEP 2:
Next, apply a makeup base so that your skin will be protected and your makeup will be more long-wearing.

STEP 3:
Wait for your make-up base to dry then apply the concealor. Make sure that your concealor is not lighter than your skin tone, or your eye-bags would have a greyish tinge.

Put on the concealor lightly in dabs as your eye area is very delicate. Dabbing too hard may result in premature fine-lines.

STEP 4:
Next, put on a thin layer of foundation. Again, do not put a colour that is too light for your skin unless u want to look ghostly. Make sure that the colour is as close to your skin tone as possible. Foundation tends to oxidize as the day passes so do not get a colour that is too dark either. I'm taking a medium tone for my skin.

STEP 5:
Some people may beg to differ but i usually use the pencil eyeliner first, before applying eyeshadow! I'd use the liquid eyeliner to go over my eyelids again after all the makeup is done.

This is the latest Majolook Trick-on. I've got the palette in BR751.

It's super stunning i tell you. I love the mix of the gold, peach, green and dark blue..
(p/s: This is the makeup i've been using recently for my photoshoots on MeltCouture)

STEP 6:
Put on the light colour eye-shadow all over the eye all the way to the arc of the brow.

I usually use the lighter ones like the gold and peach during the day,

and add on the darker hues at night to give me the smoky and more dramatic effect!
Halfway to completion. This is called the winged-look, as the shading resembles a wing.

STEP 7:
Curl your lashes and apply a layer of masacara base before applying your mascara.
Recently, i received several comments asking about which mascara I would recommend from MJ.
I know for sure that we girls are often spoilt for choice when there is such a great variety of mascaras to choose from...
However, if you're in for dense feathery lashes like me, I have a good recommendation to make!!!
PRESENTING THE NEW LASH GORGEOUS WING BK999...

This mascara helps make dense and fluttery lashes with fibres to help in thickening and lengthening your lashes!!!

It really helps me to achieve the long lashes that i thought i could only get with fake lashes!!! nice eh??

speaking about mascaras, i have some girls asking me how to remove the Majolica Majorca mascara.
The MJ mascaras all have a waterproof formula which is resistant to perspiration, sebum and tears, hence, might not come off as easily as non-waterproof mascaras.
However, I have a simple tip that i always use to remove my waterproof eye make-up and i really want to share this with you girls!!
1) Use a waterproof eye make-up remover and dab a generous amount of it on a piece of facial cotton.

2) This is the most important point:
Place the facial cotton soaked with the remover on your eyes for 20 secs before gently rubbing it
This allows the remover to be absorbed and thus, you can remove your waterproof makeup effortlessly!!

STEP 8:
Darken your eyeliner with the Neo-automatic eyeliner. It's in liquid form, hence, it goes over the eye-shadown easily. It helps to mystify the eye!!! Nice...
STEP 9:
This is my makeup secret... I used the white Jeweling Pencil liner WT966 to line the corners of my eye to make it look bigger and brighter!!!
This is how i look after putting on my eye-makeup only!!!

STEP 10:
Apply blusher on the apples of your cheeks in a a downward brush. Move along to the side of your face with an upward movement.

STEP 11:
Apply a light gloss and you're ready to hit the hottest parties in town!!
This is the Rouge Majex i received.

It's something like a liquid lipstick that gives both the shine and the colour to the lips. Its heavier than Honey Pump Gloss, but the coverage is not as heavy as a normal lipstick.

I chose my lip rouge in BE210 to get the golden-nude effect.
I really love the dramatic eye makeup and nude lips this season so this lip rouge is perfect with my makeup!!!

I got a sudden inspiration while putting on the coloured contacts.. so i chopped of my fringe for bangs to get an edgier look.. nice? haha

MISSION COMPLETED!!!

but Netball's really my favourite sport in the world. Having played netball for my school since i was pri 3 all the way till J2!! 11 precious years of team sports that i'll always remember! ><

We played positions that didn't belong to us. I played defender although I'm usually an attack or shooter. Hahah..

On the topic of sports, my little brother just had an operation last night after colliding with another guy while having a rugby match yesterday.. :( poor pretty face got distorted with stiches around the eye area!! super scary...

I understand that sportsmen are really garang when it comes to sports. You feel the adrenaline with you go all out to play a game... I've been there and done that. Having fainted twice after i finished the cross-country nationals in sec school, I know what it means to give it all..

Lewis is one such example. He can play his games so hard the he won't even feel the pain until it ends. So, what does he end up with?? Both fractured wrists, fractured pinkie (that was when he challenged me on a race under his block and rammed himself into the pillar), a bad knee, countless injuries on the legs, scratched arms, and lots of back aliments up-to-date. A huge dose of Glucosamine daily can't even help to ease the pain.

So, boys and girls, and especially Lewis Sim, do keep in mind that what happens not only affects you but the people around you. It's really not worth it if you break an arm or leg and get benched the whole season. Keep safe, fight both hard and smart!! Do pray for my brother if you can!! Thanks in advance!!

A girl with wings

As most of you know, the majolica majorca ambassadors have to attend a product briefing every time there is a new product for MJ.

However, this time, Jerraine (our in-charge) told us that she had plans to bring us for an outing instead of holding it at the office. EXICITING!!!!

All that she said to us was to dress comfortably and come by the office at 3pm...Jerraine was so secretive about the outing plans that none of us knew what she had up her sleeves for us!

So there we gathered, in the office, and were led to our chartered bus without any idea what we were getting ourselves into...

Then, the bus came to a familiar gateway – SENTOSA! And Jerraine announced the grand plans of the day!!!

We were to find a peacock and take a picture together with it.

Peacock??? We found out later that this ‘peacock hunt’ was in conjunction with their latest Chapter 20 launch – a girl with wings! Lash Gorgeous Wing is this new mascara that will give you lashes as feathery & dense like a peacock’s! So…. That’s why! Interesting huh?

Thats not all!

We all got off the bus at the underwater world... Most of us were inadequately dressed for the peacock hunt..
haha, Beatrice was tottering around with her leather pumps and dress while i was wearing a waisted skirt that prevented any huge leg movements..

So we went about, keeping our eyes peeled for a peacock...

Alas! We found a couple of peahens wandering around the roundabout. All the girls dashed on to the roads in guerilla style and charged straight towards the birds...
ah ah ah... wrong style.

the birds saw us coming and were running all about into the nearest bushes they could find.
So, we changed tactics and took to cornering them..
Crystal ran all the way in front to block the bird from running into the bush and guess what the peahen did?

It gave a great squawk and flew onto the roof of the shelter! haha, it gave all of us such a bad shock! hahaha...
After almost half an hour and drenched in perspiration, we gave up trying to catch them and reduced to trying to get them into our picture..hahaha.

the day was super fun! though we couldn't find any peacocks nor get any pictures with the penhens, i managed a couple of snaps of those that i could get near enough. i had a great time bonding with the girls and roughing it out with them. hahaha.. who says glamourous girls can't get rough and dirty?

then on we went on our bus again.. heading to our next destination... J.Co donuts!

When we got there, we were overwhelmed by the spectacular setting specially arranged by the Majolica Majorca staff!

I enjoyed mine tremendously cos it was celebrated with the people who have made my life so wonderful the past year.. :)

my countdown this year was more or less quieter and cozier than previous years. When you reach my age-- yes, the big 21, you'll start to appreciate homely places with less crowds. :)

I've got some girls asking me about what makeup i've been using!!
I've been trying to put as little makeup as possible recently, so instead of using powder foundation (eg two-way cake) or liquid foundation, i've just been brushing on a thin layer of compact powder on my skin. The finishing is almost translucent and super nice! :D
The powder that i've been using is the Pressed powder from Majolica Majorca! and it comes in a super cute casing! :D nice!!!

This week was stay-home week for me! :)
What other better ways to relax at home than to surf the web occassionally, watch dvds, and indulge in some activities that i could never find the time to do?

I am sooo in love with this Thomas Sabo designs, but they're pretty ex!!!! so i decided to make some of it myself. well, it can't be that difficult eh!

I bought beads, charms and elastic bands!

Stringing them tog was easy!
The end result!!! Nice eh?
Total cost: $15. And i can make another 10 of those with the quantity of beads i have. Far better than paying $100 for one bracelet from TS. hahaha, satisfying!
Tip: If you have some old pendants that you do not use anymore, you can convert them into charms. Simply buy the elastic string and beads and you're ready to go!!! yay!!! :D

I also decided to clear out my wardrobe and donate some of my clothes to the Salvation Army.
It's almost Christmas and it really saddens me to think of some of the less fortunate people living amongst us who do not have new clothes to wear. So, most of the stuff i donated are new or have only been worn once by me! Hopefully, the good people at Salvation army can put them into good use!

3 big bags and more to come.
To everyone, if you feel that your cupboards are bursting with clothes, do take some time to sieve through them and donate those that might have fallen out of your fancy to the less fortunate! your actions would be very much appreciated. :D
BUT, pls do not donate your old PE-tshirts or stained clothes. If you do so, you're not showing respect for the people whom you are donating the clothes to. So, you can keep those as rags at home ya.

I've got some of you girls asking me about the makeover I had during Majolica Majorca's grand opening in Ngee Ann City Watsons.
So, here's a post just about it!!!

I was there for all 3 days of the eventsome of you came down, you'll be dazzled by the lovely setting the Majolica team has created for Watsons!!!
Fur and flowers lined along black and gold hues. It was such a lovely sight! :)

Through the 3 days of the event, I did 3 makeup shows. On the first 2 days, I was very privileged to have Marcus as my makeup artist. He helped me to put on the latest golden brown eye makeup from Majolica Majorca Chapter 21 – I am Gorgeous. It's really lovely.

Here are 3 tips that he personally gave me to have great makeup!!!

1) Always apply a makeup base before putting on your makeup. The makeup base at Majolica Majorca is called Skin Lingerie. As the name suggests, it actually helps to protect your skin as well as help the foundation to last longer through the day. It absorbs excess sebum while imparting moisture to your face, allowing a smoother and more even application of your foundation without dehydrating your skin. How good is that?

2) Apply the concealer and foundation on your face before working on your makeup from top-to-bottom You can start from your brows to your eye makeup, to your cheeks to the lips. This is more systematic, and it is also helps to neaten your makeup!

3) I've got some girls asking me about the eye makeup. Most girls use the black eyeliner on their eyes as they think that it would help make their eyes look bigger. However, according to my professional source (Marcus), it is strongly advised that you use a white liner (Check out MJ’s Neo Automatic Liner WT966) to line your inner lids before using the black liner to line your outer lids. This helps to brighten up your eyes subtly!! Awesome!

Trust me, he looked like he was 1.8m, but he actually turned out to be shorter than some of us! -_- bleah. so much for a hot 21st present for yourself. Pity u, rach.

I love this new look for the model. The colours used make her look kinda etheral. Like a goddess! :D

The lash gorgeous wing mascara has 2 types of fibres in it, both long and short, enhancing the volume and length of the eyelash. Besides being waterproof, this wonderful mascara is in a unique shade of Golden brown. For those who want to achieve that bronzed beauty look, a brown mascara is the most essential part of it all!

YAY!!!! SCHOOL'S OUT!!!
while everyone is groaning about the exams in 2 weeks, i feel kinda relaxed. :D my 3 non-exam modules had taken up most of my semester but the best part is that i don't have much exams to study for now!!!
friday night was traumatic, had my nanoworld exam from 6-8pm and i don't even know how to answer any of the questions!!! sighh... physics is really not my cup of tea! hahahaha. wenjia and i are sooo gonna fail it. hahaha. of course, meeting my fab friends would ease some of the worries. teehee.

Hi girls, as promised, i'm gonna do a short post on the makeup i've been using recently.

The saying " the eyes are the window to the soul" is very true to me. Ever since i started using cosmetics, i've always paid special attention to my eye-makeup. And it is mandatory that i have some eyeliner when i go out, even if i don't apply any other makeup.

So i'm always on the search for good eyeliners and mascaras to give me the extra OOMPH in my eye-makeup!

As you know, i'm always game to try out new products so I tried on the latest range of eye-makeup by Majolica Majorca!!!!

this is the Lash Beautifying Mascara, The Mascara Base, the Neo Automatic Eyeliner and the Majolook eyeshadow palette!!!

The Neo Automatic Eyeliner really gives definition to the eye and it is super easy to use! Just twist and draw. You can get a very precise line without the fear of your eyeliner smudging after a long day at work or school. Smudge-proof eyeliners are very essential for me cos i tend to get watery-eyes and this comes in very handy! :)

The effects of Lash Beautifying Mascara. Need i say more? Longer and thicker lashes up to 1.5 times! Just check out my lashes!!!!

I'd have to say: use the Mascara base with the Lash Beautifying Mascara. :D It adds volume and length to your lashes as well!

And last but not the least, I just love the colour of Majolook - the eyeshadow palette. The colour stays on so well, even after a night of partying. It has intense colour and a slight shimmer. The subtle colours for the day and you just have to slap on some of the darker hues before going out at night!!! I just love the goldish effect after using this palette!!!

Totally love my eye-makeup now! :)

hello hello. i'm finally able to see some daylight now that most of my projects are almost over!!! yay!!! :D
but the dreaded exams are coming in 2.5 weeks and i'm getting all jittery about it! it's the first time i've had so little time to prepare cos the projects were taking so much of my time!
i'm already in fantasy-mode. Thinking about how i'm gonna spend my dec hols! going overseas with my girlfriends this time and it's gonna be really exciting! :D :D

anyways, just to celebrate finishing more than 10 projects this semester, we went to zouk on fri night! just a short one. :) and maggie if u are reading this, yes i missed u terribly. :(

Hahaha. i always played catching, go cyclying and running through the drains with some of the boys around my neighbourhood. Hahaha. My mum forced me to take up piano and violin but i gave up after reaching grade 5 and took up drumming instead.

It's totally whimsical, fun, affordable, and has the loveliest packaging.. EVER!!!

I've been in love with this brand ever since i heard about it 3 years ago! And i was really sad that time cos the only way i could get it was to ask my friend to buy it for me from Japan cos it was only available there!!! Now, it's available right here in Singapore!!! :D
the best part of it is that i was invited to be one of the ambassadors to use the products by MJ and blog about it. :D
So you girls can see my reviews for the products and choose which you like before hopping down to get it!
